Anita Sargent M.D., Ph.D.

A native to the Southern Tier, Dr. Sargent grew up in Johnson City, NY. She studied at Nazareth College, Rochester NY where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She went on to obtain her Ph.D. in Chemistry at Binghamton University, followed by a position as a Developmental Scientist at IBM/EIT in Endicott, NY, continuing the work she started during her doctoral studies. Deciding to pursue her original goal to study medicine, she then attended Upstate Medical University and graduated with her medical degree in 2008. Dr. Sargent completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital in 2012. 

Dr. Sargent is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her interests include both low-risk and high risk obstetrics, adolescent gynecology, minimally invasive gynecological surgery and management of female urogynecological disorders. Dr. Sargent is trained in robotic surgery and offers robotic hysterectomies, myomectomies and pelvic organ prolapse procedures for appropriate candidates.
